A mansion on the island of Chios is most probably the house with the most Christmas lights across Greece. some 300,000 lights decorate the house, the garden and the impressive Christmas tree.
The sparking lights form bit starts and other Christmas motives, reindeer and fawns and every else the the imagination can create.

According to state broadcaster ERT, the owner the mansion in Karfas in south-east of Chios, Pantelis Klapas, starts with the decoration already end October, beginning of November.
The 24-year-old Pantelis has been involved in the rich Christmas for the last ten years, adding new motives every year.
He said that it is his way to take part in the joyful news of the birth of Jesus Christ and offer joy especially to young children, who with their parents pass through the area of Karfas in the evening to admire it.
Especially this year, when Christmas and the holidays are so different due to the coronavirus, Pantelis felt the need to offer this special spectacle to the children, as he did for his five sisters, even under difficult financial conditions for his family.
Pantelis who is a mastic producer began after the harvest in November to place the lights in the yard with the nativity scene, stars, reindeer and fawns.
He told ERT, he does not do it out of greed, while he points out that the cost of consuming electricity with this type of lanterns is not that big.

He needs around a month to remove the lights as he does it all by himself. He will store the 300, 000 lights and start the operation “Christmas Decoration” next autumn again.
