Head of Civil Protection and deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias announced on Friday the extension of the existing lockdown for one more week. The lockdown restrictions that were supposed to end on January 11 will be in force until 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2021, he said.
In contrast to initial government plans, operation of click away services for retail stores, bookstores and hairdressers remain suspended, other business activities are suspended as before.

Hardalias said that the measures are due to epidemiologists’ suggestions who, however, also favored the opening of primary schools on Monday, Jan 11.

Schools: Kindergartens, pre-schools, primary schools, special education schools and nurseries will open with differentiated arrival and departure time and Primary and kindergartens and special schools. All measures such as mask, antiseptics, cleanings and distances are maintained.
