Greece: 3,080 new coronavirus cases, 72 deaths, 753 intubations

Greece’s health authorities announced on Friday, 3,080 new coronavirus cases and 72 more Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid-19 patients in ventilators stands at 753.

Death toll has reached 8,232. Total confirmed infections since the begin of the pandemic 270,230.

The online platform for the vaccination of age group 65-69 opened on Friday. Here it is: emvolio.gov.gr

At the Live Briefing on Friday, health authorities announced that the self-tests will be available at the pharmacies across the country form the middle of upcoming week. Priority group are students aged 16-18 and teachers. Self-tests are free of charge 1 per week and for all citizens with social security number AMKA. They will be available at pharmacies on April 7, authorities said.

The Civil Protections announced which regions remain in high risk (deep red) and which new ones are marked deep red and which change status into “red”. Authorities warned citizens in some regions due to sharp increase of number of infections despite the tougher lockdown measures. More details on a separate post.

No vaccinations on Sundays.

Total: 1,086,665 (March 30) – that is 10.11% of the population.

588,291 people have received both doses (5.5% of the population).

492,384  have received 1 dose.

According to the official bulletin on Friday, based on the confirmed cases on the last 7 days, 101 are related to travel abroad and 3003 are related to already known cases.

The released data do not allow any more the clues about the rate of infections without known source of contamination.

51.5% of the infected are men.

The number of intubated coroinavirus patients stands at 753 from 755 a day earlier. Their average age is 68, among them 65.1% are men. 82.9% have underlying health problems and/or are aged over 70.

New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals are 562 (daily change +0.18%) in the last 24 hours. Average number of hospital admissions in 7 days: 465.

Average age of infected is 44 ( age range 0.2-105).

1733 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.

Another 72 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 8,232. The average age of the deceased was 79 (age range  16-103). and 95.7% had underlying health problem and/or was over 70 years old.

Rolling weekly average confirmed coronavirus cases at 2976 ! from 2355  last week.

PRC Tests in last 24 hours: 19.049

Rapid tests last 24 hours: 37,854

Positivity PCR+Rapid tests: 5.41% (alert level over 4%)

Rt: 0.98 ( 1.02 previous week)

Daily growth at +1.2%.
