Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will address the nation early Wednesday evening. He is expected to announce some lockdown relaxation over the Easter holidays and a possible roadmap for the re-opening of more business and other activities.
Mitsotakis televised message is scheduled for 6 o’ clock.
The message follows the recommendations of the epidemiologists’ committee who met earlier today just ten days before the Greek Orthodox Easter on May 2.
Allowing inter-regional travel during the Easter holidays is unlikely to happen because as government members said earlier: We have to secure that the country open safely to tourists on May 14.
But it is excepted that the night curfew will be shorter and start at 10 pm and not at 9 pm.
State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis told state broadcaster ERT TV that restaurants and cafes will open again after Easter, probably May 3 or 4, and for seated customers only outdoors.
According to media, the epidemiologists have recommended the reopening of primary schools, gymnasiums and kindergartens on May 10 and lifting of inter-regional travel ban on May 14.
The reopening of restaurants and cafes is expected to be connected with the scrapping of sending sms to <13033> in order to leave one’s home.
At the same time, it is expected that the inter-municipality movement ban will be lifted during the week days and retail shopping will be possible without previous appointment between shop owner and customer.

Thank you so much for lifting the 6 month lockdown ready for tourism.
Well, we would not have guessed that would we. Come the end of the tourist season we are going to be right back where we started. But the tourists will have enjoyed themselves, so that’s ok.
