Greece’s Prime Minister spoke in favor of smooth movement in the summer without excessive restrictions on the return of travelers. Speaking to reporters after the informal meeting of EU leaders in Porto, Portugal, on Saturday.
During the leaders’ dinner, Mitsotakis reportedly called on EU leaders to not quarantine holidaymakers returning from Greece and said:
“Everyone agrees that travel should be allowed as smoothly as possible in the summer. For us, this means not excessive restrictions on the return of travelers to their countries.”
He reiterated Greece’s firm position for the green vaccination certificate and called for the ned for a swift implementation of the so-called ‘green’ vaccination certificate, so that citizens can start travelling to other countries without further delay.”
In his address, the premier also stood explicitly in favor of the coronavirus vaccine patents waiver, as he has been, he said, supporting the issue since April and May 2020, “in view of minimizing the gap between developed and developing countries.”
Well pal. Spend less time talking and making tourism videos and put that effort into vaccinations.
this is a nightmare…all efforts made so far (and you are doing a very good job in greece) possibly in vain. At least there are 10% of people in Germany fully vaccinated. Hopefully they will come to Greece. Sadly the green pass can be used in both directions. You give me the freedom to come, but when I am back I am in big trouble….
It’s so funny that they figured out how tourism cures covid. Wonder what happens when tourists leave in a few months. Cure gone and more lockdowns?
