Addressing the 2nd Regional Growth Conference in Patras, Rasmussen spoke of Greece’s “tremendous” progress in digitization process, and added that the new regional development programs would be announced in the immediate future.
The European Union is in constant communication with the Greek government over the coming programs, and the latter must act as consultant to the country’s regional administrations for more efficient managing of funding. He also called for attention to the human resources that will process them.
He noted that the Patras-Pyrgos highway is nearing completion, and underlined that works at the coastal front of Patras will change the city’s image and create an immense potential for development.
The 2nd Regional Growth Conference is organized by the Patra-based “Peloponnisos” newspaper, and is taking place on June 3-5. Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) is the event’s communications sponsor.

There, unfortunately, is the underlying inherent problem that Greece has. Bureaucracy, I think the cartoon picture at the head of this report is particularly accurate as to how both Greek citizens and foreign residents probably view an official Greek department.
I have been told that this bureaucracy was introduced to Greece in the Turkish occupation, now I don’t know if this is true or not, if it is I would politely suggest to the Greeks that perhaps they should seriously request a change
