Since opening for tourism (May 14th) Greece has now reduced it’s weekly covid testing by 35.4%. (386,870 down to 249,942).
you make a mistake: daily testing is not enforced! it’s people who seek medical aid or go voluntarily to mobile units for a test.
ok…since opening for tourism 35.4% less people have fancied a test, starting with 12% in the first week.
Every Thursday, the ecdc publishes its new colour codes for the European countries. These are determined by a combination of incidence (pos. cases per 100k inhabitants over the last 14 days) and the positivity rate. You can download the detailed official data and you’ll see that pos. rate in Greece is far below 1% (officially, because I see other % on KTG and EODY). There is also a map showing that Greece is one of the biggest testers in Europe (dark green colour). This is also the reason why e.g Crete will colour green from next Thursday on (unless there are neg. surprises in the next couple of days of course). Incidence below 75 and pos. rate below 1%.
(My opinion is that it is insane to test healthy people, but I know that most fear spreading terrorists see that differently)
