Greek Police on Friday identified the 39-year-old police officer held on charges of sexually abusing and exploiting a 19-year-old woman as Dimitris Bougioukos.
The Police also released images of the suspect who was arrested in the eastern suburb of Ilioupoli last Sunday.
The publication of his details was approved by judicial order in a bid to encourage other victims of trafficking and rape to come forward, Police said in a statement.

Bougioukos was arrested when the young woman he held as prisoner escaped to a nearby cafe and a concerned waitress informed police.
The girl reported to police that the officer kept her captive in his home, he was abusing her and threatening her even with a gun and he was trafficking her for money.
The 39-year-old police officer was already under scrutiny by the Internal Affairs Department, he was suspended since June for having threatened a college “with a bullet in the head” and would be dismissed from the Force.
According to α Police press release, the police officer who is on leave due to be dismissed, has been arrested for bodily harm and human trafficking, threat and violations of the laws on weapons and domestic violence.
Media reported that also another victim spoke to police.
The suspect may have been involved in a broader women trafficking gang involved also in the porn movies industry.
