Greece: 2,472 coronavirus cases, 8 deaths; geographic distribution

Greece’s health authorities announced on Saturday 2,472 new coronavirus cases and 8 Covid-related deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals Intensive Care Units increased to 133.

Slowly but gradually admissions to hospital increase and so does theenumber of intubated covid-patients.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 474,366 infections (daily change: +0.5%). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 131 infections are related to travel abroad and 1402 to other confirmed cases.

51.2% of the infected are men.

There are 8 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the total of pandemic victims to 12,890.  Of these, 95.5% had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.

A total of 133 Covid-patients – from 130 a day earlier – are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 65 years. 60,2% are men. 88% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.

2,785 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

178 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change:  +22.76%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 152.

The median age of new infections is 41 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Of the 2472 new cases, 13 were detected at the entrance gates of the country and 2 among travelers already in the country.

  1. Why is Lesbos [where I live] coloured orange (>150) when it has 6 covid cases?
    Why do you say hospitalisations are rising when the graphs and info show it decreasing?
