2,132 coronavirus cases, 32 deaths, 378 intubations; distribution in Greece

Greece’s health authorities announced on Friday 2,132 new coronavirus cases and 32 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospital Intensive Care Units decreased to 378.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 611,648 infections (daily change: +0.3%)In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 185 infections are related to travel abroad and 2526 to other confirmed cases.

51.0% of the infected are men.

There are 32 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the total of pandemic victims to 14,102*.  Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.

A total of 378 Covid-patients – from 384 a day earlier – are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 65 years. 59.8% are men. 82.3% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.

According to EODY among the intubated patients:

338 (89.42%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated

40 (10.58%) are fully vaccinated

According to EODY, intubated Covid-patients based on age group are:

  • 0-17  :   1
  • 18-39: 16
  • 40-64: 167
  • 65+  : 194

3,036 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

181 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -14.62%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 211.

The median age of new infections is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Of the 2,132  new cases, 18 were detected at the entrance gates of the country and 5 among travelers already in the country.
