Greece’s health authorities placed the regional units of Serres and Karditsa into “red” level on Wednesday due to recent increased in the number of infections.
The increased cases of coronavirus “reddened” two other prefectures by changing the epidemiological map.
In the updated Covid-19 MAP, the level of increased risk remains for the regions:
- Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Larissa and Kilkis, and for 3rd Pieria, Pella, Kastoria, Drama, Imathia, Xanthi and Kavala.
The regional units of Fthiotida and Arta have turned “green”.
Check for the interactive Covid-MAP in English here.
It should be recalled that in regions marked “red” there is a “mini lockdown” with night curfew 1 am-6 am and music ban 24/7.
However, Health Minister Thanos Plevris announced short after 3 p.m. Wednesday that regions with increased infections will no longer be placed in mini lockdown. They will be in increased surveillance only.
The so-called “new freedoms” will go into effect on Saturday, 9. October 2021, and initially for two weeks. After that the measures will be re-evaluated. More details on a separate KTG post.
