Greece’s health authorities announced on Wednesday 7,105 coronavirus cases and 70 Covid-related deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals has slightly increased further to 489.
It should be noted that the 7,105 confirmed cases were detected by almost half of the tests carried out the previous 24 hours that had resulted into a new record of over 8,613 infections.
Authorities repeat their appeals to general population for vaccinations as the situation in hospitals is increasingly dramatic.
According to Ambulance Service EKAV, 73 intubated patients are outside ICUs. Of them 50 are in Attica, among them are Covid- and non-Covid patients, STAR TV reported Wednesday evening.
Health experts warn of even 100 deaths per day if the pandemic is not under control and more people get the jab.
However, a good 38-39% of the population remains either reluctant out of fear or has turned a fierce opponent due to several reasons including fake news and conspiracy theories.
