Stormy winds disrupt sea travel in Greece, Nov 29-30

Stormy southern winds have been disrupting sea travel in Greece on Monday and Tuesday, November 29-30, 2021. According to National Meteorological Service, winds are blowing with intensity of 7-8 Beaufort locally and up to 9 B in the Ionian Sea.

Several ferries had to cancel their schedules from the port of Piraeus to Cyclades and Dodecanse islands on Monday afternoon, media reported. Also from the port of Rafina and Lavrio in south-east Attica several ferry schedules had to be cancelled
Ships to Zakynthos, Ithaki and Kefalonia remained docked at the ports on Monday, state-run news agency reported.
In the Saronic Gulf only closed type ships are allowed to sail.
Closed to sea traffic are also the passages Agia Marina-Nea Styra, Kavala-Prinos-Thassos,
In the Ionian Sea the passage Igoumenitsa-Lefkimmi was closed, while travel Igoumenista-Corfu are allowed only with closed type ships.
