Greece’s health authorities announced on Sunday 4,036 coronavirus cases and 79 deaths in the past 24 hours. the number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals increased again to 624 from 617 a day earlier.
Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 1,074,869 infections (daily change: +0.4%). Of the confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 206 infections are related to travel from abroad and 2,409 to other confirmed cases.
79 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours brought the total of pandemic victims to 20,429. Of these, 95.2% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
A total of 624 patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 62 years and 79.2%pct have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total in intubations, 521 (83.95%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 103 (16.51%) are fully vaccinated.
3,716 have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
302 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -3.21 pct). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 313.
The median age of new infections is 38 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
Of the 4,036 new coronavirus cases, 1803 were detected in Attica, 474 in Thessaloniki and 136 in Heraklio. The remaining regions with 2- and 1-digit cases are:
