A ransom of about 1,000,000 euros is allegedly demanded by the kidnappers of a businessman abducted outside his home on Tuesday night. The 40-year-old man is co-owner of a car spare parts company, well known in western Attica.
The victim had left a tavern in Liosia, shortly after midnight and was returning to his home in Drafi, East Attica, when he was kidnapped.
At the time of his abduction, he was speaking to a friend on his mobile phone. The latter told police later that he heard the kidnappers.
The man’s relatives informed the police that the man had “disappeared” and expressed fear that he was kidnapped, state broadcaster ERT reported Wednesday morning.
A police operation was launched, short time later, two burnt out cars were found in the area of Spata, also in east Attica.
The cars were transferred for forensic analysis to police laboratories, it’s not known whether one of the cars belongs to the kidnapped businessman.
Alpha TV reported Wed evening that the kidnappers had already contacted the victim’s brother, the second co-owner of the company. They demand “one million euro” to release the father of two. and advised the brother to not contact police as it was “dangerous.”
The kidnappers contacted the family per sms from disposable card-phones, Alpha and also other media and news websites reported adding that the kidnappers sent also a picture of the victim.
