Greece’s health authorities announced on Wednesday 24,246 coronavirus cases and 77 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals increased further to 670 by 30 new intubations compared to a day earlier.
A 6% increase in children was recorded in the week Jan 3-9. According to EODY, the total of infected children aged 4-18 is 43,386, that is 18% of the week’s total. the previous week it was 12%. Note that schools opened on Jan 10.

77 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, brought the total of pandemic victims to 21,637*. Of these, 95.1% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

670 patients are on ventilators in hospitals, from 640 a day earlier. Their median age is 64 years and 59.7% are men. 79.9% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total in intubation, 565 (84.33%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 105 (15.67%) are fully vaccinated.
