Athens Metro extends operation hours on Fridays and Saturdays

Athens Metro lines 2 and 3 will extend their operating hours on Fridays and Saturdays and trains will run until 01:30 in the morning, managing company STASY announced on Friday. The extension will be in effect from March 4, 2022.

According to STASY the last trains will depart from Syntagma station in all directions at 1:30 and from the terminal stations at the following hours:

-Doukissis Plakentias at 01:09
-Nikea at 01:11
-Anthoupoli at 01:14
-Elliniko at 01:11
-Airport at 23:32 and finally
-Nikea to Airport at 23:01.
Between 00:20 and 01:30, trains will pass every 15 minutes.

Extended working hours on the tram will be restored around Easter.

Extended operation hours after midnight on weekends for metro and the tram was suspended on March 2020 due to the first pandemic lockdown and lasted until November 2021. Beginning of December it was reportedly cancelled again due to the new coronavirus restrictions.
