Greece: 18,094 coronavirus cases, 88 deaths, 460 intubations; distribution

Greece’s health authorities announced on Sunday 18,094 coronavirus cases and 88 Covid-related deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of Covid-patients intubated in the hospitals across the country has decreased again to 460 from 471 a day earlier.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 2,317,014 coronavirus infection cases (daily change: +0.8%). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 288 infections are related to travel from abroad and 2,024 to other confirmed cases.

Rolling average: 17,756 from 17,924 last week.

88 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours and 2 from previous days incorporated in today’s EODY data, brought the total of pandemic victims to 25,417. Of these, 95%. had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.

460 patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 67 years, 64.3% are men and 87.4%. have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.

Of the total in intubation, 339 (73.7%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 121 (26.3%) are fully vaccinated.

4,217 have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

301 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -8.51%). The average daily admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 361.

The median age of new infections is 35 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 79 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Of the 18,094 new coronavirus cases, 56 were detected at the entry gates of the country and 11 among travelers already in Greece.
