Ferries, ships docked at Greece’s ports due to 24h strike on May 1

All ships and ferries will remain docked at ports throughout Greece on Sunday, May 1, 2022, due to a 24-hour strike, the    the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) announced on Tuesday. Affected are all ships of all categories.

Τhe strike starts at 00:01 on Sunday, May 1, and ends at 24:00 on the same day midnight.

This strike is being held to mark the Labor Day (May 1), the Federation noted.

“Also this year, the seamen pay tribute, honor and commemoration to the emblematic day that literally changed the course of history and is identified and linked with the diverse struggles of all workers in our country and around the world,” the PNO noted.

Greece’s unionists hold traditional strikes on Labor Day.

If you plan to travel by sea, using ferries or any other ship, contact local port authorities or travel agents.
