Greece’s health authorities announced on Tuesday 5,610 new coronavirus cases and covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid-patients intubated in ICU of the country’s hospitals stands at 120.
A total of 3,478,779 (daily change +0.2%) people have been officially infected with the virus since the start of the pandemic, while the death toll has risen to 29,951, EODY said in its daily bulletin.
Rolling average 3,646 infections (3,594 last week).

Of the 5,610 new infections (incl 28 from previous days), reinfections are estimated at 679 in the last 24 hours, while their total since the pandemic began is estimated at 139,040 (3.8% of the total positive results).
19 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours and another 5 from previous days, brought the total of pandemic victims to 29,951. Of these, 95.6% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
120 Covid-patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 70 years and 92.5% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total in intubation, 58 (48.33%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 62 (51.67%) are fully vaccinated.
4,689 Covid-patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
88 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -7.37%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 87.
The median age of new infections is 37 years (range: 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of the deceased is 80 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
