The bad weather stroke Kefalonia with rain and thunder and short before the skies opened, a tourist dived into the sea for a swim in Argostoli.
His friends alerted port authorities that were mobilized to rescue the young man. he, however, managed to swim to the shore at a nearby beach.
Now authorities are reportedly considering whether to impose a fine on the man because he set himself at risk and moblized the authorities to launch a search and rescue operation.
