Two cruise-ships made an unscheduled arrival at the port of Souda, Chania on the island of Crete, due to the strong winds blowing in the Aegean Sea.
According to the chief of the Port Fund of the region of Chania, Dimitris Virirakis, the two cruiships, «MSC SINFONIA» and «RHAPSODY OF THE SEAS» submitted a request to approach the port of Souda on Tuesday.
MSC SINFONIA is carrying 2,023 passengers and the RHAPSODY OF THE SEAS 1,904 passengers.
The two cruise-ships will depart in the evening at 10 pm ans 8 pm respectively, reports local media zarpanews.gr.
Locals hail the unexpected arrival of 4,000 tourists who will reportedly visit the old town of Chania as well as areas of archaeological interest.
