Construction of three new metro stations in Piraeus will be completed by the end of September, it was reported on Saturday.
These are the ‘Maniatika’, ‘Piraeus’ and ‘Municipal Theatre’ stations, which are expected to increase the total passenger traffic on the metro network to 132,000 citizens daily.
The total duration of the journey from Piraeus port to Athens International Airport is estimated at just 55 minutes.
The city’s daily car traffic is expected to decrease by 23,000 vehicles, which translates to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 120 tons per day.
