More train schedules will be added as of Friday, April 8, to the national railway network, which is gradually returning to operation after the deadly train collision on February 28, the Hellenic Train said on Thursday.
The company announced that trains IC 56 from Athens (14:28) and IC 59 from Thessaloniki (18:08) will restart tomorrow on the line connecting the two cities.
The Suburban Railroad (Proastiakos) will add more schedules on the Piraeus-Magoula line as well. The trains will be leaving Piraeus on the quarter every hour (05:15, 06:16, etc., until 21:15), and Magoula on the quarter to every hour (06:45, 07:45, 08:47, 09:47, etc., until 22:47). Passengers from and to Kiato and Corinth can ride on a bus picked up at Magoula, which will also make all regular stops except at Zevgolatio). These buses require reservations, even for passengers with unlimited-rides cards.
Selected railroad lines continue to be served by buses until the entire rail network schedule is restored.
In addition, the Athens-Thessaloniki bus line’s schedules c50, c51, c56, c58, c59, c61, c62, and c63 will be abolished as of April 8, 2023.
