Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY issued an emergency bulletin warning of weather deterioration with heavy rainfalls and storms that will be accompanied in places by a high frequency of lightning and hail, as well as temporary stormy winds.
The bad weather front is forecast to strike Greece from the West as of Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

1. Heavy rains and storms are forecast:
A. Tuesday, May 2:
from late afternoon the Ionian islands and towards the evening in Epirus, western and central Sterea, Thessaly (mainly the western parts) and Peloponnese.
B. Wednesday, May 3:
a) Ionian islands, western Sterea, Thessaly and central Macedonia.
b) until the afternoon hours Epirus, western Macedonia, central Sterea and western and northern Peloponnese.
c) from midday hours in eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
C. Thursday, May 4: the phenomena will weaken, however the weather will remain unsettled, with rainfalls and storms possibly strong in some places in the Ionian in the morning hours and in the continental ones in the afternoon.
Winds are forecast to blow with intensity 7 to 8 Beaufort.
Friday, May 5 is not forecast to be much better, though, as the weather fornt will move further South.
