The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen enjoys a few days on the island of Crete as a guest of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis
During her three-day private visit to Crete, von der Leyen and her husband are hosted at Mitsotakis’ summer house in Akrotiri by Chania.
According to local media zarpanews.gr, the German guests and the PM couple enjoyed a dinner with Cretan specialties overlooking the Gulf of Souda.
Von der Leyen and her husband arrived in Chania on Saturday and are scheduled to stay until Monday.
The private visit of the EU Commission President to Crete followed an invitation by the Greek Prime Minister.
