Greece’s Air Traffic Controllers strike cancelled per court order

The union of Greece’s Air Traffic Controllers will not be able to hold an announced 24-hour strike on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

A First Instance Court in Athens ruled on Wednesday evening that  the strike was “illegal.”

Therefore, flights are expected to operate as usually.

To be sure about potential changes, check with local airports and travel agents.

The union of Air Traffic Controllers had called its members on Tuesday to join the 24-hour strike called by public sector union ADEDY and other unions.

Courts in Athens have ruled work stoppages by Metro workers also as “illegal” but some unions insisted to strike tomorrow, Thursday.
