A 64-year-old man shot his 39-year-old son-in-law in the middle of a street in Nikaia suburb of Piraeus, then turned the gun against him and committed suicide.
The crime took place around 8:30 on Friday morning in front of the victim’s wife and his minor son.
It was a woman reportedly in the neighborhood who heard the gun shots and alerted the police.
It is the second time in less than a week, where a father-in-law shoots and kills his daughter’s husband.
Last Saturday, a 69-year-old man shot his son-in-law in Agia Varvara suburb of Aegaleo, also in Piraeus. Motive was reportedly tensions between the couple and the parents who were claiming their grandchildren had been abused. Something that was not confirmed in the recent past.
Together with the perpetrator also his wife have been arrested, as their daughter had heard her shouting at her man “Shoot him!”.
