The Confederation of Civil Servants (ADEDY) announced a 24-hour strike scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, over unmet labor demands.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, ADEDY said that the new strike is a follow-up on the successful strike of February 28.
The Confederation added it will continue its fight “against high prices and the economic impoverishment of employees through the government’s policies,” and called on all civil servants to join its action en masse.
Among its demands are a 10% wage increase across the board for civil servants, collective work agreements on wages, increasing the tax exemption to 12,000 euros, and staffing immediately all critical public sectors such as health, education, social services and social security.
