A man on a lifeboat was spotted struggling against the waves f a rough sea in the strait between the islands of Mykonos and Tinos in the Aegean Sea on Monday afternoon. The castaway was ultimately rescued by a commercial ship sailing in the area.
The castaway was reportedly alone on a 10-meter-long speedboat that sank 2.8 nautical miles off Tinos.

He send an SOS to Port Authorities who on their part, alerted ships sailing in the area about the shipwreck ans especially the Super Express that was nearby at the said time.

The man was filmed making signs, allegedly asking for help from the people on board of the ship.
The passengers did not miss the opportunity to film the man with their mobiles and upload the footage on social media.
The man, a Serbian national in his early 40’s, was ultimately taken to the Health Center of Tinos for preventive examinations and tests.

He is in good health and is being transported to the port of Rafina in East Attica, protothema.gr reported.
At the time of the shipwreck and the following rescue there was a rough sea due to the northern winds blowing with 6 to 7 Beaufort in the area.
