Marina Satti partners with UNHCR for Refugee Children (Music Video)

Greek singer Marina Satti has partnered with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to support refugee children and produced a breathtaking music video to remind us all the hardships of wars, violence and poverty that push thousands of people to leave their country and seek a better future often using risky ways.

In this context, Marina Satti and Madhouse Records will donate their profit from the release of the music-video “Ah, Thalassa” (“Oh, sea”) to help children in need.

The music video begins with a short close-up of barbed wire, which, however, does not foreshadow the viewer and listener for what will follow. The film shows an idyllic landscape, careless summer vacations and the sea and then the shock … under the surface of the sea: children’s clothes, empty, luggage and orange life jackets with which economic and political refugees, driven by violence, poverty and war, try to reach Europe and Greece.

At the end of the video reminds that:

“In the last decade 29,984 people lost their lives in Mediterranean Sea. Among them 1,274 children.”

The lyrics are by Lena Kitsopoulou

«…Without love I don’t want to live here on land But you are so calm my sea Mirroring birds But I am a wave…»

Video: Ah, sea!

Marian Satti dedicated the song to her father who recently passed away.
