Dozens of sheep and goats were buried alive instead of being killed first as health. safety and humane treatment of animal protocols require. The animals were from a farm unit in Trikala, central Greece, where livestock was found to have been infected with rinderpest.
WARNING! GRAPHIC PICTURES!
According to a specific complaint regarding the deaths sheep and goats infected with rinderpest, the animals were not killed first but were buried alive.
The complaint accompanied by pictures was submitted to newspaper documentonews.gr by lawyer Christina Mitronatsiou, the legal representative of the owner of the livestock unit in Trikala whose animals were buried alive.
According to lawyer’s complains, the sheep and goats were “in essence buried alive”, without complying with the provisions of the relevant legislation with the result that a strong stench from the fleshy fluids of the sheep and goats emerged in the area, which poses a serious risk to public health.
It is characteristic that the dust they threw over the animals is marble dust, while the authorities wanted to pour cement.
It seems that the competent authorities have opened a pit in which they were going to bury the plague-infected sheep and goats.
However, as one can see on the pictures, some of the goats and sheep are alive and standing upright in the pit.
According to the complaint, this was done because the competent services responsible for the removal of the animals did not complete their duty as they had to but assigned the breeder with the “immobilizing and anesthetizing” of the sheep and goats.
Then the state servants literally buried the animals alive, without having killed them first, as it was done in other livestock farm units of the area.
Sorry, mistake!, says the Ministry
Lawyer Mitronatsiou told documentonews.gr that she contacted by phone the competent agents of the Ministry of Rural Development who manage the plague case. These are two officials of the Department of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases and the Director General of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine of the Ministry of Rural Development (the names are at the disposal of documentonews.gr).
According to the lawyer, the officials told her that “the killing of the animals had to be done for sanitary reasons to prevent the transmission of the disease.”
However, “they told her to their credit that the management of the incident at the livestock unit was done in a completely wrong way.”
The lawyer stressed that “the local authorities and the competent Ministry of Rural Development should be of particular concern in order to let’s not be led to the extreme phenomenon that instead of dealing with this unpredictable pandemic, we have the spread, through dangerous health centers, of serious diseases that can also affect humans”
She urged the ministry officials to investigate the issue, fearing that more animals have been disposed in this way.
Legal actions for damages
This is indeed a particularly serious complaint that needs immediate investigation by the competent authorities. The lawyer also raises the issue of compensation to the affected breeders and warns of legal action.
“If the damages commensurate with the destruction are not paid then we will claim both positive and collateral damage, the lost profits of the livestock units that were decimated and the moral damage of the farmers who went through the process of killing their herds in an extremely violent way , while in the psychological state they were in, they had to immobilize them themselves to stun them and then literally bury them alive,” Mitronatsiu emphasizes to newspaper.
She threaten to prepare a special report and submit it to the European Parliament if compensations are not being paid by the beginning of October.
Prosecutor intervention
It should be noted that the prosecutor of the Misdemeanors in Larisa has ordered an urgent preliminary examination for the confirmed cases of plague in sheep and goats in Thessaly.
Investigation is to focus on how, when and who brought the animals infected with rinderpest into the country.
In Thessaly there is talk of a specific livestock unit in Trikala that allegedly imported a load of infected sheep and goats from Turkey or Romania, where the plague is endemic.
PS after this post I’m gonna take a long break, drink a bottle of vodka and puck till the end of time, till such human beasts and uneducated savages are being exterminated from the country I live in.
Mistake or Not, the incompetent ministry officials and their employees are completely responsible for burying the animals alive, for not comply with the protocols, “for writing down there where ink does not stick” – as we say in Greece – every article and paragraph, for not caring neither for the animals nor the humans.
c’est horrifiant de barbarie. tu dis “PS after this post I’m gonna take a long break, drink a bottle of vodka and puck till the end of time, till such human beasts and uneducated savages are being exterminated from the country I live in.” idem.
The longer we are alive we will come to realise that another planet’s beings are using earth as a dumping ground for for all of their undesirables, having traits which are unwanted and not tolerated there, they are swiftly ejected into their celestial journey where they will meet, embrace, collude with millions more of the very same ilke.
This is how they eliminate swine flu in China: they bulldoze the living animals into a pit and bury them alive. China has no animal welfare laws whatsoever. Greece has them, too, but you would never know it. Again, again, and again: abuse everywhere, unpunished almost everywhere.
Greeks long ago coined the term “barbarians” for the white african ethnic group that did not speak greek, because their language sounded like BA BA BABA. Nowadays, who are the barbarians? The Berbers of North Africa or the Greeks who treat human and animal life as bring worthless.
Sick.Sick.Sick.
DISGUSTING.
Greece among Turkey Where all strays are being killed cause they don’t care instead spay and neuter, Killing is the ANSWER?!?Or America where dogs and cats abonded are collected to killing shelters, tens, hundreds killed every WEEK.
The moral progress of a nation is how its Animals are treated…
If “they” will do that to animals then ‘they” would do it to humans !! Agree with all the comments above!
About two months ago in Crete, some 80 sheep were brutally murdered by some wild beasts. This paper was very quick to jump in defence of murderous beasts!
It is like you believe, brutally slaughtering animals is ok, when your favorite pet does that! Maybe have some consistency!
Perhaps government should dump beasts into hole, together with infected sheep. They would die much faster!
Careful ,nobody in this news outlet is interested in the truth about “tiggles” and it’s disemboweling technic, when munching through its 3or4 small birds a day .
Out of sight out of mind , but the law clearly states you are responsible for the actions of your pets.
I am ashamed that I live in this country. I cannot call these humans animals because they are so evil as no animal can ever be.
