Riot police officers under investigation for use of violence (videos)

Greek Police ordered an internal investigation against at least one riot police officer filmed using violence against a woman during a pro-Palestinian protest rally in central Athens on Monday.

Multiple videos shot by other protesters and posted on social media, showed riot police officers approaching a woman protester. One of them pushes and hits her. A colleague of him restrains him, while a third officer hits civilians with a shield and kicks somebody. Another sprays chemicals on civilians for no reason.

According to media, the police officers under investigation claimed that the woman swore at them.

The incident took place outside the Metro station in Panormou street, Ampelokipoi district of central Athens.

Police was filmed also beating protesters, firing sound flares next to motorists and commuters returning home, and spraying chemicals to everyone daring to protest the use of violence, according to avgi.gr.

A total of 20 protesters, men and women, were detained, ten of them were later arrested, daily efsyn.gr reported.

  1. I don’t know what the fuss is all about, that’s what Riot Police are there for, they provoke until they have a reaction and a reason to disperse people violently.

This is a normal reaction on their part, its part of their training.

No government wants to feel embarrassed about facilitating a Genocide, so they silence the protestors by having the excuse that they became ‘violent’.

Do we expect these thugs to treat people with Kindness and Dignity?
