Passenger traffic in Greece’s airports hits new record

Passenger traffic in Greek airports are heading for a new record, with the numbers in the first ten months of the year already surpassing the annual total for 2023, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) chief Giorgos Saounatsos has said.

Passenger traffic totaled 72.8 million from January to October, an 8.9% increase on the 66.8 million in the same period last year.

A total of 72.6 million passengers used Greece’s airports throughout 2023.

Flight arrivals and departures increased 6.9% in the first ten months of the year to reach 546,858.

The figures concern all 39 airports in the country, including the 24 run by the CAA, 14 by Fraport Greece and Athens International Airport.

The CAA noted that passenger traffic in the 24 airports it manages was up 6.8% by October.

  1. Your articles are shallow and lack detail. ”Passenger traffic increases.. ” for example doesn’t say who the travelers are. Business people ? Tourists ? Fellow Europeans or Americans or Chinese ? All your stories are shallow. Not worth reading, really.
