Storm BORA: Updated Weather Warning for Greece

Storm weather BORA will continue to affect parts of eastern and southern Greece also on Tuesday, December 3, and the National Meteorological Service EMY issued on Monday an update of its Emergency Bulletin of Hazardous Weather Phenomena.

According to EMY Update, BORA will remain in effect as rainfalls and storms that  will be locally heavy, are forecast to continue until the morning hours of Tuesday December 3, 2024.

EMY’s BORA UPDATE

Heavy rainfalls and storms are forecast:

a. In the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean Sea (region of Limnos, Lesvos, Chios) temporarily during the midday hours and in the southernmost parts (region of Samos, Ikaria) until Monday afternoon, December 2.

b. In the coastal parts of the eastern and southern Peloponnese temporarily until the evening hours of Monday, December 2.

c. In Thessaly (mainly in the prefectures of Larissa – Magnesia) until the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 3.

d. In the Sporades islands, northern Evia, the Cyclades islands and the Dodecanese at intervals until the morning hours of Tuesday, December 3.

Storm BORA swept across Greece over the weekend claiming the life of three people, flooding homes, businesses and roads and causing extensive damages to infrastructure.
