A 39-year-old man called Greek Police short after 6:30 on Thursday evening saying he had killed his wife and her body was in the attic of the apartment they were living in Ambelokipoi district of Athens. It is the 15th femicide in the country in 2024.
Police officers rushed to the apartment to find the Albanian national in the apartment where there was a putrid smell.
In the attic and under black garbage bins, they found the body of the 32-year-old victim.
The man confessed to the killing by striking her on the head with a hammer and thus a week ago.
Regarding the motive, the man claimed to police that he killed her because she was cheating him with his best friend.
According to newsit.gr, when they arrived at the given address, police found the man waiting for them together with the couple’s children ages 9 and 12.
The man was arrested and taken to police station, while a coroner was expected.
There is no information about the fate of the children who had possibly witnessed their mother’s brutal murder.
It is the second femicide in Greece in December and the 15th since the start of 2024.
