Traffic restrictions will be implemented on Panepistimiou Avenue, a major thoroughfare in downtown Athens Athens, starting Saturday and lasting for one month to accommodate roadwork, Greek police has announced.
The restrictions, in effect from January 18 to February 18, 2025, will periodically block a 30-meter section of the road’s right-hand lane just beyond the intersection with Voukourestiou Street at various times throughout the day and night.
During this time, traffic will be directed through the remaining lanes of the roadway to ensure continued flow, the police statement noted. [via kathimerini]
PS Athenians still recall the trouble and the long jams on Panepistimiou Avenue when the previous mayor Costas Bakoyiannis was playing with their nerves for the sake of the “Great Walk” instead of playing with his Legos at home.
