Families of Tempi victims organize protest rallies demanding Justice

The association of the families of the victims of  the Tempi train tragedy are calling for protest rallies across Greece two years after 57 people were killed and the way to justice is moving on turtle’s speed.

Under the slogan “I have no oxygen” the main rally is scheduled in front of the Parliament at 12 noon on Sunday, January  26, 2025. Other rallies are scheduled in dozens of Greek cities including the islands.

The protests come as the victims’ families keep asking questions about the causes of the train crash on February 28, 2023.

The latest call for answers comes after audio evidence leaked a few days ago week indicated that some 30 of the 57 victims of the crash were still alive after the Thessaloniki-bound intercity passenger train collided head-on with a freight carrier and died due to an explosion of “unknown substances” on the freight train.

Many of the victims were university students heading back to school after a long holiday weekend.

  1. The Greek people should go out in force to support these demonstrations. Yesterday, in Serbia, there was a big strike and a big demonstration against the government, set on by an accident in November when a roof collapsed on waiting passengers, killing 15. A cover up was attempted. The case not only showed in rot in the concrete but in the whole State of Serbia. This case was the drop that overflowed the bucket.

The cover up of Tempi is even worse. This alone should rally the Greek.
