A medical evacuation operation of ten child patients from the Gaza Strip was completed on Wednesday, organized and coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, the World Health Organization and the Egyptian authorities were involved for their transport. Τhe children were treated at the Greek Hospital in Cairo before being transferred to Athens.
The patients and their escorts arrived in Greece via a special flight, provided by AEGEAN airlines.
The children will receive treatment n medical facilities in Greece while their escorts will be accommodated in facilities of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.
