Greece’s National Meteorological Service (EMY) issued a gale-force winds warning on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Stormy northern-northeastern winds will prevail in the Aegean Sea in the next two days, mainly affecting the North-East Aegean, the Central Aegean, Cape Kafireas (Cavo d’ Oro) in south Evia, South-West Aegean and the Kythera Sea.
The gale-force winds are forecast from early Monday morning, with an average of 7 to 8 Beaufort and gusts expected to reach 9 B.
Those planning to travel by sea, are advised to contact local port authorities and travel agents as there may be a sailing ban.

It is customary of port authorities in Greece to ban sailing of ferries and other ships when winds blow with intensity of 9 Beaufort.
