The shocking systematic abuse of two siblings, a boy and a girl, aged 5 and 6 respectively, has been revealed when the mother had to take them to a hospital as the older child was sick.
Doctors at the emergency room of the General hospital of Larissa, central Greece, found that the children bear old and recent marks from cigarette burns, the boy also on his cheek, while both children had extensive abrasions and skin lesions on their limbs. In addition, the boy had weird drawings in his genitals and buttocks.

Initially the mother claimed that the marks were mosquito bites. However, she did not convince the medical personnel who informed the police.

The 32-year-old mother, a divorcee, was immediately arrested, while police is seeking for her partner, a 50-year-old local taxi driver.
Police also contacted the biological father of the children, who claimed he had not seen them for a very long time. the mother has accused the biological father for the children’s injures.
Criminal prosecution has been initiated against the mother, the biological father and the mother’s partner who is reportedly a fugitive.
Authorities continue investigation trying to find out whether the children were also sexually abused and what exactly was the role of the mother in the abuse of her children.
