The two security officers had spent nearly 48 hours battling the waves, sources of the security firm told media, adding that the two were recovered in a sensational rescue and in very bad condition.

The brother of the Greek security officer told Skai TV that his brother was recovered with hypothermia and weakness, however, he was being treated and his life was not in danger.

MV Eternity C’ was attacked with naval drones and rockets on Monday and eventually sank. Four persons on board are dead and at least 15 are missing, both crew and members of the ship’s security team.

According to the European operation “Aspides” providing protection to international shipping in the region, 10 people have so far been rescued after the ship sank – eight Filipinos from the ship’s crew and the two members of its security team. They were rescued by a private company that has undertaken the rescue operation.

The search to find 15 who are still missing – 13 Filipinos and a Russian  – continues.

On board of Eternity C were 22 crew members and 3 armed guards.

According to Skai TV, there reports of hostages being held by the Houthis, citing statement by the attackers.

This is the second attack launched by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels within 24 hours, following Sunday’s attack on the cargo ship Magic Seas – of Greek interests, also under the Liberian flag – which the Houthis said was sunk. There are no reports of dead or missing in this attack.
