The father one of the young people who were killed at the Tempi train crash started a hunger- and thirst-strike outside the Greek Parliament on Monday, September 15.
Panos Routsis, father of 22-year-old Denny Routsis, is one of the parents and family members of the 57 people who died in the train accident in Tempi. He demands the exhumation of his son’s body.

The father has declared his determination to proceed with this extreme form of protest, demanding the exhumation of his child’s body and justice for the causes of the train collision on February 28, 2023.

The father placed himself at the point where his son’s name is written, on the informal monument in front of the Unknown Soldier, which has been created with the names of the 57 victims, state broadcaster ERT reported.

It is worth noting that on Monday evening there was a gathering in support of the father on hunger strike.
Many parents and family members complained from the first days of the tragedy that they were handed out closed coffins they were not allowed to open and say Goodbye to their loved ones. Many also doubted that that the coffins contained the remains of their own people.
Two and a half years after the Tempi tragedy, survivors and victims families still waiting for Justice.
But until Justice is served, they will remain stuck in a huge bureaucratic jumble of reports and investigations and results over results that often contradict each other.
