Greece is preparing to deploy a military force consisting of some 150 personnel to Gaza. The force will participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF).
Media report that the decision as already been made and is now in the planning stage.
The Greece force is expected to be at a reduced battalion level.
Initially, the role of the Greek presence was planned to be purely supportive, however, the data has changed and now the mission will also include security duties within the area.
Army security forces will be transferred to Gaza, which will accompany:
- the Medical Corps
- the Engineer Corps, which will assist with heavy machinery for infrastructure projects
At the same time, the Greek forces will move with wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicles, enhancing their operational protection.
According to military issues website onalert.gr, there will be support also from a security section which will consist mainly of Special Forces men.
In addition to the combat units, the participation of staff officers at the ISF headquarters is also planned.
Two Greek officers are already at the CMCC political-military coordination center in Kiryat Gat, which operates under American command.
Information so far indicates that the Greek mission will be based in the security perimeter around Gaza, which has been created by the Israeli Armed Forces.
The Greek units will be integrated into broader formations of the Israeli forces, undertaking specific operational missions.
The development of the ISF came about following a proposal by the United States to the United Nations Security Council, which was approved by Resolution 2803 of 2025.
Greece is among the first countries to support this initiative, paving the way for its active military participation in the region.

Given the dangers and the politically controversial nature of this military occupation, I suggest that only soldiers closely related to members of the ND government should be sent. Why should ordinary Greeks, who do not support Israel, be sent to their possible deaths in Gaza? We can be sure that this venture will be of no benefit to Palestinians, and is in reality only to benefit the USA and Israel.

Aligning the country with israel is a very smart move, always remember that Turkey is lurking around us but the fear of israel has been her beginning of wisdom. The country has so much to benefit by Aligning with israel one of the world powers in military , innovations , science name it.

Aligning with a country that is now a rogue state, with a government whose politicians are not only corrupt but formally accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and brutal torture as a routine punishment (outlawed as cruel and unusual punishment) is not something that the Greek population supports. It goes against everything in Greek culture. The fact that Turkey does not have good relations with Israel is not a good reason for Greece to support Israel: only an idiot would think like that.
The main things that Israel has innovated are illegal spy technology on mobile phones; new ways of torturing and bullying anyone who supports the Palestinian cause; complete and shameless defiance of international human rights law — which emerged out of the horrors of the Shoah; and organised financial corruption. This is not a record for any country to be proud of.
