Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY updated its emergency bulletin of Monday, warning of stormy winds blowing with intensity of 10 Beaufort in several parts of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 17-18, 2026.
Most affected are the regions of western Greece including the islands in the Ionian Sea, the islands in the central and eastern Aegean Sea and Crete as well as central Macedonia, including the city of Thessaloniki in the north.


The Civil Protection has placed four regions in “Red Code” state of alert due to possible flooding phenomena – Check HERE on KTG .
EMY Updated Weather Warning
1. Locally heavy rains, storms and possibly local hail are expected:
a. in Epirus and western Sterea until the afternoon
b. in western and southern Peloponnese until the afternoon
c. in Crete (mainly in the western and southern parts) until the afternoon hours
d. in the Cyclades (mainly the southernmost islands) temporarily in the afternoon
e. in the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese from early afternoon until the evening.
2. Very strong to gale-force winds will blow:
a. in the Ionian Sea and the coasts of the western mainland (Epirus, western Sterea and western Peloponnese) westerly 7 to 9 Beaufort and from the evening until the early hours of Wednesday 18-02-2026 northwesterly 9 to 10 Beaufort
b. in Crete, the Cyclades and the southeastern Peloponnese, westerly winds 8 Beaufort and from the evening until the morning hours of Wednesday 18-02-2026 9 to 10 Beaufort
c. in central Macedonia (including the city of Thessaloniki) from this evening until the morning hours of Wednesday 18-02-2026 northwesterly winds 8 to 9 Beaufort.
