The technical fault that occurred on Thursday in the data transfer system at Merenta Hill serving Athens International Airport (AIA) “Eleftherios Venizelos” has been repaired, according to an announcement by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The fault caused a system malfunction and a temporary reduction in aircraft handling capacity at AIA, KTG reported earlier today HERE, citing an announcement by the Air Traffic Controllers Association.
According to CAA announcement, “specialized personnel from the Civil Aviation Authority immediately carried out diagnostic and corrective measures, and the technical malfunction has been resolved. Air traffic control services continue uninterrupted,” state-run news agency amna reported at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
So, practically, there are no delays expected at the Athens airport.
