Greek Police will close metro station <Syntagma> in downtown Athens on Thursday afternoon, March 12, due to an anti-war protest rally.
According to an announcement by managing company STASY, the Syntagma metro station will close at 5:30 pm. Trains will pass through without stopping.
As STASY informed on Thursday morning (12/03), by order of the Greek Police, Syntagma Metro station will close at 17:30 and trains will pass through it without stopping.
It is noted that there is a call for an anti-war protest rally at Syntagma Square, which has been addressed by left-wing organizations and collectives due to the war in the Middle East.
A march to the American embassy is scheduled to follow.
Note: it is possible that also more metro stations like <Evaggelismos> and <Megaro Mousikis> will close due to the march to the US Embassy.
The metro stations usually open again when protests are over and police deems the situation as safe.
