The loud sound of quick flying fighter jets raised concern among residents and visitors of Athens given the war in the Middle East.
“What’s going on, what happened? Why are they flying so low?” a woman asked on social media.
Another use noted that the fighter jets “were flying so low and so loud they set off car alarms in the neighborhood.”
“No need to worry,” my neighbor to her old mother, “they do it every year.” We finished our cigarette and left our balconies.
It was certainly a rehearsal for the big military parade and the celebrations for Greece’s Independence Day, on March 25, that is upcoming Wednesday.
