Metro station in downtown Athens shuts down due to Anti-War protest

By order of the Greek Police, metro station <Syntagma> will shut down in downtown Athens early afternoon on Saturday, March 28, 2026 due to an Anti-War protest. At the same time, traffic regulations will be put on effect.

The closure of <Syntagma> station starts at 2:00 p.m. and will open again when the protest rally is over and police deems the situation is under control.

The trains will pass through the <Syntagma> metro station without stopping.

The call for the protest is at 3 p.m. at Syntagma Square opposite the Greek Parliament with main demand to stop the war in the Middle East and with the slogan “no participation of Greece.”

Due to the demonstration, traffic regulations will also be put into effect in the vicinity of the area.
