Strict security measures with 4,000 police officers and 600 cameras and drones are to secure law and order in Athens on Friday, due to the Olympiakos-Fenerbahce game within the Basketball EuroLeague Final Four 2026.

At the same time, by order of the Greek, stations of <Thiseio> and <Faliro> of metro line 1 will be used on Friday afternoon exclusively for the transportation of fans traveling to Irini Station where the match is scheduled to take place.

According to media,  Olympiacos fans will gather at the ISAP “Faliro” station, Fenerbahce fans at “Thiseio” station, while Real Madrid and Valencia fans will gather at the Panathinaikos Stadium. From these points, organized and controlled transportation to T-Center Athens will take place.

Trouble with tickets confirmation

550 Olympiakos fans who had bought tickets for the game against the Turkish rival were highly concerned and upset earlier on Friday due to delays with in the cross-checking of fans’ data and had not received the confirmation e-mails in time.

Organizers had reportedly even considered the possibility of both semi-finals being postponed even one hour after their scheduled kick-offs (from 18:00 to 19:00 for Olympiacos-Fenerbahçe and from 21:00 to 22:00 for Real Madrid-Valencia.

By 1:30 the problem seems to have been solved as the first confirmation e-mails have reached the fans of all groups.

Around the T-Center in northern Athens security checks are as strict as possible and nobody without a confirmed ticket will be allowed to enter the sports facility.

It is recalled that Greek Police has imposed restrictions and banned public gatherings until May 25, 2026. Details HERE at KTG.
